Fish - a food product
|
Fish is a valuable food product. It contains polyunsaturated fatty acids which are highly beneficial to the body's circulatory system. Fish protein is easily digested and therefore well absorbed. Fish provides a balance of nutrients which include vitamins, mainly A, D, E, and B, the minerals potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, and trace amounts of iodine, zinc, and selenium. Zinc selenium, vitamins A and E strengthen the body's immune system. Phosphorus is particularly beneficial during periods of stress because it strengthens the nervous system. One serving of fish per week provides the body with its required amount of iodine. |
